You may have noticed that I didn’t post an adventure on Monday like I usually do. Mom was working this weekend, so we didn’t have a big adventure. We thought we would take a stab at a poem together. Mom has been writing poetry since she was a little girl. I’m pretty new to it; see if you can tell where I contributed:
THE TRAIL OF LIFE
The trail of life has its twists and turns.
Be careful when it’s hot ‘cause it will hurt your paws and really burns!
Thorns and stickers are part of life.
Be kind on the journey – no barking or causing strife.
Be strong and steady as you climb those hills.
Slow down if you must and tap into your Shiba Inu will.
Don’t forget to enjoy the views – reflect and ponder.
Have fun; zig zag here and there – wander!
Why go it alone when you can bring your mate?
Get outside – start living today – don’t wait!
Kuma the dog
(with a little help from Lorraine Bossé-Smith)
Hi! I am Kumaito (Kuma for short), a multi-tan Shiba Inu. My breed is one of the oldest and purest from Japan. I personally was born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, moved to Friendswood, Texas, and now call Phoenix, Arizona home. I enjoy running or hiking almost every day with my mom, chasing rabbits out of my neighborhood, playing with toys, pestering my brother Edmond, eating, napping … well, I love just about everything and everyone!
My mom, Lorraine Bossé-Smith is kind enough to help me share my Great Adventures, big and small. My mom is a motivational speaker, corporate trainer, business consultant, executive coach, behavioral-wellness expert, and author of eight published books. More importantly, she’s the best doggy mom ever!

Get outside! You never know what you’ll discover, and our paths just might cross. Happy tails!
