It is mid January, and many people have probably already lost sight of their resolutions for 2017. I’ve heard many people declare that they don’t have any resolutions, which is a resolution of itself! Resolution means to declare, promise, and pledge, and I’ve never been a fan. It is way too easy to say you will do something. Words don’t mean anything without action. Instead, I have goals with resolve.
Resolve is more than declaring; it is making up your mind, deciding definitely, and being determined! But resolve needs a purpose, and that is where goals come in. Just saying something, like losing weight, isn’t a goal. It doesn’t have specifics like how many pounds and by when. Goals should include a plan of attack, a plan B, and daily action items or steps that move you toward the goal.
Resolutions don’t work unless you put some meat to it with goals. Goals won’t work if you don’t have resolve. Get serious sooner than later by setting specific and measurable goals. Need help? I have a down and dirty booklet called Reach the Goal in Record Time! that gives you incredible tips to find the success you seek.
