I think if we are honest with ourselves, we have all made bad decisions at some point in our lives. Some we simply regret and others can have lasting, negative consequences. We hopefully learn from them all. Regardless what the bad decisions were about (relationships, career, health, purchases, etc.), they have one thing in common: fear. Good decisions don’t come from a place of fear. Good decisions come from a place of strong emotional intelligence. They require us to discern between truth and propaganda; facts versus fiction; real science not a woke agenda.
Fear is a faithless friend whose intent is to devour our confidence and consume us to the point of blurring our vision and rendering us paralyzed. Fear does not discriminate and can attack anyone of any age. Often teens succumb to peer pressure and do really stupid things. Unfortunate for them is they don’t go away and live on social media forever. Our youth is severely lacking emotional intelligence because it has not been lived out by example.
In the business world, the worst time to decide what to do is in the thick of the storm. Being reactive to chaos wreaks havoc on employees, thus the importance of business strategies and plans to follow and execute, despite the circumstances. It takes fear and emotion out of the equation. The best companies are not reacting but stepping back, waiting, and planning.
Our political landscape is a prime example of using fear to steer people to really bad decisions. I am absolutely the kind of American who believes we all have the right to choose what is best for our health, but when we are being fed lies and fear, how are good decisions possible?
I continue to hear from people, “Oh there’s a lot of misinformation out there.” What’s incorrect about this statement is that they are trusting the very source that IS lying to us: the CDC. When sources that actually have data and proof are being discounted, we are in HUGE trouble. I’m getting bolder and more outspoken because I care. My spirit is angered because I know what is behind the hidden curtain. I know the deceit to the American people, and it is causing them harm.
I’m also speaking out on behalf of your grand kids. I want them to live in a free country, not one of socialism, communism or dictatorship. However, with enough bad decisions being made, history will repeat itself. Our future…their future…is at stake.
Never, ever make a decision for your health, a relationship, career choice, purchase or anything out of fear. The more fear that is pumped out and pushed upon you should cause you grave concern and pause. In fact, it should set off bells and alarms! If you haven’t watched the movie V for Vendetta, the time is now. If you haven’t seen it in a while, watch it again. Pay attention.
Always have the wherewithal to take a step back from the frenzy and fear fest to breathe, research, review, and pray. When this whole COVID-19 thing began, I was scared to death. I have under-lying health issues and a compromised immune system. I freaked out because I didn’t want to die. BUT…within a few days, I did exactly what I just told you to do.
I stepped away from the media and got information I knew to be true. Meaning, it wasn’t being funded by pharmaceutical companies, lining the pockets of politicians or being screened and blocked by far-left social media moguls. I also checked in with trusted health professionals who did not have to comply with hospitals protocols and the CDC mandate because they are independent and not affiliated. Most importantly, I leaned into my heavenly Father. For me, the decision was clear, and I continue to remain firm in my good decision.
Whatever your decision and whatever it is for, do not make it out of fear but of sound judgement. Don’t buy into popular opinion just to fit in. Remember the Holocaust and just how many people “complied” to avoid shame, ridicule or punishment. Just because everyone is doing it doesn’t make it right. Take the emotion and peer pressure out of it and put God in the middle of it all. I pray that we are all brave enough to make difficult but good decisions for us, our country and our future. May you make good decision moving forward.
