YOUR HEALTH
In my latest book, Defy Your Diagnosis, I outline some key principles for creating the kind of health you desire. The first step is to define what you want it to look like. This is simple yet difficult as we can get caught up in settling for what others tell us our health should be. Your family might believe you are doomed to inherit diseases that tend to run in your family, and your doctor might diagnosis you with something he/she believes is a death sentence. By defining it as you see it, you take the power back! You begin to create a positive force for healing, restoring and re-inventing!
I’ve done it, but it isn’t easy folks because we have to replace ALL our fear with faith. Not some of it…all of it. We must also do our part of being intentional with our actions. We can’t just sit by and say “Hey, God will fix this.” We have to do our best to deal with whatever we are facing and to do the things that will help our body. God made us with amazing abilities, and our mind and body can and does heal itself. It cannot function properly if not fed correctly, and it certainly will become sluggish if we don’t exercise. The good news is those things are in your control!
Going alone can be scary and overwhelming. Seek support but ensure it is with those who align with your goals and vision. Don’t partner with someone who doesn’t believe in healing! I do, so let me know if I can be a coach and encouragement to you on your health journey.
This year, commit to being the best version of yourself! Decide to defy whatever has been holding you back. Tackle the tough stuff and move past it once and for all. Happy 2022!
YOUR LIFE
We survived the holiday madness at the stores. Pat yourself on the back! I don’t know about you, but I was more frustrated than usual with businesses being understaffed. I totally had compassion for the poor folks left alone to handle angry mobs of people, but as a consumer, I will not be giving my business to greedy companies who won’t hire enough people and won’t bother to train those they do have.
In the mix, we have dynamics enticing people not to work but that won’t last forever. No, we have a mindset going on to save a buck by under-staffing. It’s wrong, and we need to stop supporting these businesses! COVID-19 was an exceptional situation, and drastic measures were taken. People rolled up their sleeves and went the extra mile. Their reward? Getting fired if they don’t have the vaccine.
Last I heard and hopefully as we move forward, we are free to choose what is right for our own body. No company or government should have the ability to tell us what to do. Again, I can’t control the stupidity and insanity of it all, but I can stop shopping at places that don’t put their people first. Who care more about the almighty dollar than their customers…enough! We should not be accepting poor customer service as the new norm!
The America I grew up in was hard working, inventive, and celebrated and protected our freedoms. If we want to prevent Communism from overtaking us, it will require real change. Real change demands a commitment from us, and we will need to make sacrifices. You may need to stop going to Starbucks for their Marxism beliefs. Deal with it! You’ll save a bunch of money to boot!
Recently, my cell phone died. I got the black screen of death. I went to Best Buy, who has notoriously earned the name Worst Buy in my book and lived up to it, to buy not one but two cell phones since my husband’s was as old as mine. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked if anyone could help us. I saw four employees nearby with their faces in their phones. No one looked up. I asked again saying we wanted to purchase cell phones, which aren’t cheap!
Another 20 minutes went by, and no one cared enough to help us. They weren’t busy – just lazy. As we walked out in disgust, I said to the one employee by the door, “You just lost over $2,000.” He didn’t care and put his face back in his phone. Companies should be concerned about this, but they also need to take ownership of it. They are NOT hiring the right people, and they aren’t investing in training them. As a result, we are all suffering.
I won’t be using Worst Buy, and I will be carefully choosing who gets my hard-earned money. I hope you do the same! It’s time for us to take back our power as consumers! A new year; a new attitude!
YOUR CAREER
Are you one of the companies struggling to hire the right people? Have you pulled away from training? Your decisions are costing you sales. You may not know it just yet, but a tidal wave is coming. People have had enough. You are turning off customers, and we have too many options to suffer through poor service.
I know the pressure of getting people on board can feel like a tsunami assaulting you, but you must resist the urge to hire just anyone. The wrong people will ultimately harm your business way more. Just look at my Worst Buy example. If it happened to me, it is happening to tons of people. For every one bad experience, there are at least 10 more!
Take a step back and know what you need in a role. Don’t focus on a person but the duties and requirements of the position. Then get some help to find a person who will fit the bill. The market is competitive, so you better be willing to change your culture. If you aren’t going to pay going rate, good luck.
Once you have found the right people, be sure to onboard and assimilate them into the company with proper support and training. Most people decide they are going to quit within the first 30 days! Like any relationship, first impressions matter.
For those people who have been burning the midnight oil for you, they are on the brink of burnout. It is too easy to ignore people until they squeak. Don’t wait until they quit. Thank and reward these people properly. Don’t have a rewards and recognition program? I can help you develop one that actually works for your people, by their personality type. Give me a call and let’s chat.
Something to consider as a way to relieve some pressure for existing employees and bridge the gap until additional team members are added is to contract out. There are millions of us out here ready, willing and able to work. We have extensive experience, high emotional intelligence, and we have work ethic. We don’t ghost!
I’d be happy to be a resource for you. Let me know how I can help. Here’s wishing you a profitable and successful year ahead!

It might be a brick and mortar, online shopping cart, customer service phone call or even an HR hiring portal, all of which are crucial to your success. Yet, you are losing customers every day who are going to your competition. In today’s fast paced world, it is too easy to click on something else. You may think you are doing fine, but it is only the extremely disgruntled customers who take the time to write a scathing review. Countless others just move on, and you never know you lost them.
