Friday is park day, and I just love visiting the grass at the Anthem Veterans Memorial Park. After a great walk, mom headed over to the Anthem Crossings Shopping Center instead of driving straight home. I thought she was running an errand until she got me out of the car. I immediately smelled yummy food.
We were at Tru Burger, located at 39504 N, W Daisy Mountain Dr #110, Anthem, AZ 85086, and they have a wonderful outside, dog-friendly patio. Phoenix winters are just awesome for sitting outside, and I am always excited when I am included.
I immediately got a large bowl of water. Dude – it was bigger than my head? I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it, but I lapped up some cool, fresh water, and it was good. A few other people were outside and others inside. You can choose what works best for you. The patio is in the shade and had a slight breeze that chilled it down. However, they had the space heaters going, and that made mom happy. It was just perfect.
Mom ordered her meal with the waitstaff, and I eagerly awaited! Tru Burger is known for its, well, burgers of course! They only use high-quality meats. Mom said she never had such tasty chicken as when she had a salad here before. A salad – at a burger joint? Oh please. I hope she didn’t expect me to eat greens. I remained hopeful.
The service was a little slow, but we weren’t in a hurry. The desert is such a beautiful place and we soaked it all in. Mom’s drink was refilled; I guess she was thirsty, too. Then came the meal. Wholly smokes! She got a burger, and the bacon was for me…all of it. Oh yeah baby, I was in doggy heaven now. I snarfed up that bacon so fast that mom questioned whether it even existed. Ha!
Mom took the bun off and just ate the burger. She’s trying to cut calories and ate just a few fries for taste. Good mommy. She gave me a few bites, and I can attest that their meat is terrific! They cooked it the way we like it, too: medium rare.
For location, atmosphere and food, we recommend Tru Burger. Their prices are a bit high, but you really do get high-quality meats (all sorts). If you haven’t tried it, you might want to stop by on some lovely 70s day to enjoy it. If you haven’t been in a while, it might be time for a burger! Mom says their salads are excellent as well. You can’t go wrong. Bon appetite!
