Hello dear readers and thank you for the well wishes. In case you didn’t see or read, I injured my right, back ankle. No, I didn’t do it bouldering in Sedona but stepping off a curb wrong in my own neighborhood. Doh. I was healing up and then went for a long walk with Daddy. I begged him and gave him my very best sad eyes, in his defense. Anyway, afterwards, I got worse. Swelling and pain. Off to the vet.
X-rays were taken at Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic, and I’m pleased to report that nothing more serious (like cancer) showed up. I do have arthritis, but we knew that, and a small bone spur. What Mom has been doing is the right course of action, except I am supposed to take an entire week off from exercising. Wait, what???
I’ve been making Mom feel very guilty, but she isn’t budging…daggum it! I know it is for my own good, and the rest is helping. The swelling is down, and I am no longer limping. I should be good as new soon!
In the meantime, my folks took me to Azool Grill on Friday since we couldn’t do our normal park day. Azool Grill is located at the Albertson’s shopping center in Tramonto, North Phoenix, and they have a dog-friendly outdoor patio.
Mom and Dad have been only once when we first moved to Arizona, and they weren’t impressed. Since First Watch near us doesn’t allow dogs outside any longer, we thought we would give it another try.
The waitress was very friendly, and she brought me a big bowl of water. The patio is completely shaded and never gets any sun so it was chilly. And like last time, smokers moved in, making Mom choke. Every time we drive by, we see smokers, but we were hoping to enjoy fresh air. No such luck.
Mom ordered a salad, and it was lame with wimpy lettuce. Dad got a burger to share with me, and it was small and dry. Thumbs down on the food and atmosphere. Besides being cold, the outside patio is dirty. I don’t think they bother to clean it.
A bust, but we were together. I appreciate their effort to give me an adventure of the eating kind! Any time I get a car ride is a good day. We don’t recommend Azool Grill but have heard some people like it. To each his/her own.
I will do my best to keep it low key, but I cannot make any promises. I am a Shiba Inu after all. Woof!
My mom, Lorraine Bossé-Smith, is kind enough to help me share my Great Adventures, big and small. My mom is a motivational speaker, corporate trainer, executive recruiter, business consultant, coach, fitness expert, and author of nine published books. More importantly, she’s the best doggy mom ever!
