This weekend wasn’t very exciting for me. Mom and dad went 4-wheeling, and I stayed home because I don’t like all that bouncing around. Mom made up for it by taking me to a new park today!
We visited Paseo Highlands Park off of W Pinnacle Peak Road (exit 217 off I-17). The park is just one mile from the freeway and is next to the Geolet A C Beuf Community Center, which is temporarily closed. You can turn at 35th Avenue for the park. It has plenty of parking, but the human restrooms are closed right now as well due to COVID-19. Bummer for mom!
The park has a lot of grass. Awoof! Grass feels oh-so-good on my paws, and I love rolling around in it. Have you ever tried it? Quite exhilarating! Anyway, the park has a paved walking path that goes around the entire park. The outer loop is one full mile, and the inner loop is just about a ½ mile.
Some of the grass is open space and other sections are used for soccer and baseball. The park also has a volley ball court and several pickleball courts. Mom says that is similar to the tennis she plays. Didn’t interest me, but hey, I am a dog. Several other folks were walking with their dogs, and some kids were playing pickle ball. Otherwise, the park was mostly empty. I’m sure it gets busier on the weekend
There is a kid section with lots of slides and swings, but again, it is all closed. Such a shame. We are coming into our perfect-weather season, so I hope it opens soon so everyone can enjoy it. Today was warm with humidity in the air. I’m so ready for cooler temps! Mom says to hang on as we are taking a road trip for my birthday. Where will it be? What will we do? Stay tuned!
