For years now, I’ve been helping businesses grow and succeed by getting results they seek. Whether you are a company, department or individual, my practices apply and can help you achieve great things.
The first step is assessing the current situation honestly and accurately. This sounds simple, but I can’t tell you how many leaders through the years had no clue as to the underlying, real issue at hand. For many in positions of leadership, their egos get in the way, and they cannot admit any fault, mistake, or wrong turn. This is quite unfortunate because the process would move along much quicker if they were willing to admit and learn from their errors. Individuals can be stubborn, too, and may not want to look in the mirror. All growth comes from self-reflection, and none of us is perfect. We all can improve!
Whether your team or life is stagnant, take a hard look at the current state of affairs. An outside consultant or coach can often shed the light on those places, things, and behaviors that are preventing forward movement.
Once the situation has been clearly identified and defined, solutions are explored. Many times, companies are limited to “what has worked in the past,” and get stuck in a vicious cycle. It is not only unproductive but extremely frustrating to all involved. This is where I come in to expand the possibilities! I have a wide-breadth of options, tools, assessments, and trainings that address all sorts of challenges business face. These solutions resolve the problems and get the company, department, or individual back on the high-performance track.
All solutions have the desired outcome in mind, and before solutions are implemented, everyone chimes in to develop and agree to the desired outcome. Even the best solutions will fail if you fail to get buy in from all parties involved! Leadership is allowing individuals and teams directly involved to participate in the process. Again, a consultant can facilitate the process to keep the emotions out of it and stay focused on the desired outcome.
When everyone is marching in the same direction and moving toward the outlined outcome, actual results are measured. Are you making progress? Or did you encounter unforeseen obstacles? I like to warn clients that as soon as they commit to big changes that will grow their business, snags, traps and potholes will present themselves! In other words, expect some resistance and difficulty along the journey. Change is not always easy and can be quite awkward and messy at first, but once the new process is more comfortable for all involved, success will come.
Remember to have periodic check ins to address any obstruction on the designated path, and go back to evaluating the current situation and creating new solutions as necessary. Rinse and repeat! Don’t forget professional consultants like myself can come along side of you to expedite and excel your progress. I welcome the opportunity to discuss your situation and brainstorm some solutions that will get you the desire results you seek.
