My mom and I take adventures together every day. Sometimes we go visit the grass at the park, sometimes we hike, and other times we run. I’m a smart Shiba-Inu, don’t you know, so I know the difference. How you ask? Well, after my mom’s morning ritual of filling up me and my brother’s water and food dishes and scooping my bro’s poop (he’s a cat and poops in a box…eeew!), she gets ready. Depending upon her shoe selection, I know which type of adventure we will be having: sandals mean we’re going to the park; hiking boots mean we are going hiking; and running shoes, you guessed it, mean we will be running.
This morning, however, something bizarre happened. My mom put on her hiking boots and took me to Apache Wash, which is one of our local hiking spots here in Phoenix. She had the Kuma Kantina with her (a Camelback full of fresh water just for me), and we started on the hiking trail. Then it happened. My mom was hiking at such a fast pace that I had to start running. What was this? I thought we were hiking!
My mom said we were hiking so fast because of frustration. I didn’t know who this frustration was, but I immediately didn’t like him. I turned around to see him, but we must of got ahead of him. Mom picked up the past even more…she started running!
I thought perhaps frustration was a different name for that hot, fiery stuff that burns you that she’s called fire. I turned around again but didn’t see any. Maybe frustration was referencing storm clouds that bring lightening, but the sky was blue without a cloud in it.
All I know is that we hiked our route that normally takes a full hour in 30 minutes flat! We broke a hiking record! I barely had time to do my business, and you won’t see any pictures with this blog because we didn’t stop to take any!
Mr. Frustration – leave my mom alone! I don’t like you very much, and if I ever meet you, I’m gonna pee right on you! Woof!! Time to go rest…
Hi! I am Kumaito (Kuma for short), a multi-tan Shiba Inu. My breed is one of the oldest and purest from Japan. I personally was born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, moved to Friendswood, Texas, and now call Phoenix, Arizona home. I enjoy running or hiking almost every day with my mom, chasing rabbits out of my neighborhood, playing with toys, pestering my brother Edmond, eating, napping … well, I love just about everything and everyone!
My mom, Lorraine Bossé-Smith (Founder of the FIT Leader Formula™) is kind enough to help me share my Great Adventures, big and small. My mom is a motivational speaker, corporate trainer, business consultant, executive coach, behavioral-wellness expert, and author of eight published books. More importantly, she’s the best doggy mom ever!
