With over 20 years’ experience as a coach under my belt, I have helped many people get out of their time traps – those things that stop us dead in our tracks and prevent us from moving forward. The types of traps vary from person to person, but one thing remains true: they are real. From procrastination to shifting priorities, our time traps are like wet cement. We step in thinking we can easily move through it, but alas, the cement hardens, and we are stuck! Some are more elusive than others, requiring us to be more mindful. All time traps, though, should be respected and avoided.
How do we avoid our time traps? We must first know our unique wiring. How do you respond to challenges? How do you influence others? What type of pace do you prefer, and how do you review rules and procedures? Answering each of these questions gives you insights into your temperament. We are a blend of four styles (Assertive, Animated, Attentive or Accurate), but we tend to have one dominant way of behaving, which influences just about everything.
Once we identify and acknowledge our particular style, we then can explore what traps we may be naturally inclined to fall in. I believe every person can be prone to procrastination depending upon our emotional maturity and self-esteem that play critical roles. This is where a certified coach like myself can help. Sometimes we don’t always see the trap once we are in it. Despite the discomfort and derailment it creates, we have gotten accustomed to it. With conversations and probing questions, a coach can shed some light on how you got there in the first place, how to get out of the trap, and how to avoid it moving forward.
Human behavior insights are paramount and together, we can look at your strengths to craft a strategy for pushing past your time traps and moving forward toward your goals. When we tackle our time traps head on, we get more done in less time. This momentum builds energy and focus, ultimately helping you achieve great success. It all begins with a comprehensive assessment and working with a coach dedicated to your best self.
I welcome the opportunity to working with you to accomplish great things!
