Just the title of this movie (Think Like a Dog) makes me smile! This 2020 direct-to-cable release due to COVID-19 stars Josh Duhamel, Megan Fox and others. The most important character is Henry, the family’s dog.
The story is about a 12-year-old boy named Oliver who is a whiz kid and invents a contraption that allows him to hear Henry’s thoughts. Whoa! That’s kind of freaky. I don’t think I would want someone to know how many times a day I think about steak, bones, and cheese!
Anyway, Oliver’s parents aren’t getting along and drop the “D” word on him (divorce), so he embarks on a plan to bring love back into their marriage…with the help of Henry, of course. The plot has a couple of twists and turns to keep you interested, but remember one thing: this is movie geared toward kids.
The banter between Oliver and Henry is cute, fun and witty. It’s a wholesome movie with a good ending, so if you are looking for something sweet and gentle, you might like it. I don’t think it would be worth the $19 to buy a DVD, but the $5 rental fee was okay. That’s what I’m thinking…and cheese. Woof!
