Back in my corporate days, I had a mentor/coach on retainer. It wasn’t that I didn’t feel qualified for the position, but I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I appreciated having someone available to bounce things off of and talk through challenging situations. This resource allowed me to make better decisions, communicate more effectively, and grow as a leader. I found such value in the coaching process that I became one!
“‘I can’t do’ never accomplished anything, but ‘I will try’ has accomplished miracles.”
-George P. Burnham
Coaching has been around for ages. Sports teams, in particular, know the value of having a person dedicated to motivating, encouraging, and inspiring others to do great things.
Executive Coaching can help you with:
- Identifying your goals & visions
- Creating a realistic plan to achieve them
- Developing motivation to take action
- Overcoming obstacles and getting back on track if necessary
- Ensuring your actions produce results
- Building leadership, communication, or project management skills
A Coach is someone you can utilize as a resource for learning new skills, developing ideas, or gaining new insights, but most importantly, a Coach is someone who works with your best interests in mind as you seek to realize your dreams and ambitions in your journey through life.
While your Coach may have training in, or significant insight into, human psychology, a Coach is not a counselor or therapist. A Coach will not address emotional issues or injuries. A good Coach may, however, be able to refer you to a qualified therapist who can address those types of issues.
The bottom line is that a Coach can help anyone set and achieve better goals, improve performance, increase self-awareness, make a transition, improve the quality of his/her life and create a more balanced life.
What I can do for you
As a professional Coach, I will work with you to set and clarify realistic goals, create action plans for achieving them, and act as an accountability partner to keep you on track and help you overcome the inevitable challenges that you will face along the way.
Unlike a counselor or therapist who may focus on past events and how to overcome the resulting associations, I will focus on where you are today, where you want to go, and how to get you there. In doing so, I can help you to gain new skills and insights, change limiting behaviors into empowering ones, and help you to use the God-given talents you were born with (and still have inside you) to your best advantage.
An important point to remember: While I can assist you in identifying, clarifying, and setting effective goals, I cannot guarantee you will achieve them. To achieve anything in life requires a commitment to action on your part.
As with anything, you will get out of any coaching what you put in it.
What I can guarantee is if you do not reach your goal, you will know why and then I can help you to learn from and overcome the challenges or barriers that prevented you from realizing your desired results.
What can you expect?
Typically, a coaching appointment is over the telephone or via Skype is in 30-minute to one-hour increments. Depending on your needs and situation, these sessions may take place on a weekly basis, a semi-annual basis, as needed, or anywhere in between. The standard schedule for most clients is one session every week or bi-weekly. Regardless of the schedule that you choose, I will assist you in a manner that is best for you!
